1. If you are going swimming, make sure you wear a water-resistant sunscreen. The combination of chlorine and water is murder for your skin! Wear the highest SPF sunscreen with any of these ingredients - mexoryl, avobenzone, zinc oxide or titanium oxide. Apply every 1 and a half hours. Sunscreen will protect your skin from further darkening, but will not lighten skin.

3) Use skin lighteners after you've stopped swimming. The use of skin lightening products while swimming is not recommended because of too much direct sun exposure, which can damage the new exfoliated lightened skin and cause it to become darker because of sun sensitivity. Although you can protect skin with a sunscreen while in the skin lightening regimen, negligence is always a cause for problems. So soon as you finish your swimming lessons, the accumulated tanning (which can take months to get rid of) can be lightened through the use of products for that purpose, and get skin back to its original color in no time.

a)You can try this home remedy also: Mix 1 tsp of milk powder, 1 tsp of honey, 1 tsp of lemon juice, and ½ tsp of almond oil. Apply on face and wash off after 10-15 minutes. This pack helps bring shine to the skin,smoothness and also removes tan from ur skin.
b)Use tomato!!ya it helps reduce tan n rub it whrevr u need to.....n also mix a half slice of lemon,1 tbl spoon of sugar,1 tbl spoon of glycerine....its works like a scrub n its amazing..
c)Apply Curd on exposed area for a month.
dAnother mixture for lightening the skin colour would be buttermilk with a bit of oats in it. The oats has exfoliating capacity and the butter milk is an excellent after skin soother.
5)If you can,try swimming in the morning or evening.Avoid the afternoon hours 10 to 4.
